Membership types
We offer various types of membership to individuals. The leisure centre facilities available and the amount you pay will depend on the type of membership you have chosen.
thrive active single site membership
A single site leisure centre membership gives you access to facilities at a chosen leisure centre and is a great value option if you use the same centre for your activities. It includes:
- access to the gym at your chosen leisure centre
- thrive active and mind and body classes at your chosen leisure centre and the ability to book 7 days in advance
- swimming at any of our leisure centres that have a pool. Does not include pool activities, such as seaside sessions, fun sessions, splash tots, raft and float sessions, inflatable sessions and Splashability.
- walking sports where available at any of our leisure centres
- sauna and steam room facilities where available at any of our leisure centres
- discounts on other activities
- leading you through the thrive active experience, which provides a helping hand through your journey to fitness with us – the experience includes a workout plan and deep dive sessions of your choice

A multi-site membership gives you access to facilities at any of our leisure centres and is a great option is you use more than one leisure centre. It includes:

thrive active junior membership
A thrive active junior membership is available for 11 to 15 year olds. A thrive active junior membership includes:
- access to age appropriate activities at pre-determined times in the gym at your chosen leisure centre (does not include access to the Move Hub)
- leading you through the thrive active experience, which provides a helping hand through your journey to fitness with us. The experience includes a workout plan and deep dive sessions of your choice.

Casual thrive active membership
A casual thrive active membership gives you access to facilities at a chosen leisure centre. It includes:
- access to the gym at your chosen leisure centre, including an induction and personal fitness plans
- discounted classes at your chosen leisure centre and the ability to book seven days in advance
- discounted swimming at any of our leisure centres that have a pool. Does not include pool activities, such as seaside sessions, fun sessions, splash tots, raft and float sessions, inflatable sessions and Splashability.
Move membership
Move membership is free and gives you access to a variety of free sessions and discounts on other paid-for activities. It includes:
- Move walking
- Move running
- Move cycling
- Move creative (some sessions may have small charges)
- discounts on Move classes, mind and body classes and swimming
Move Plus membership
The Move Plus membership gives you access to all the free Move and paid-for Move activities. This includes:
- use of any Move Hub
- swimming at any of our leisure centres with a pool. Does not include pool activities, such as seaside sessions, fun sessions, splash tots, raft and float sessions, inflatable sessions and Splashability.
- Move classes in the leisure centres or in community venues
- Mind and body classes in leisure centres
- walking sports where available at any of our leisure centres or in community venues
- use of any available sauna and steam facilities in leisure centres
- discounts on other activities
- any free Move activity including walking groups and creative sessions

Move Plus junior membership
The Move Plus junior membership can be ideal for people who are beginning their fitness journey and want to take gentle steps to being more active or recovering from an injury. A Move Plus junior membership is available for 11 to 15 year olds. A Move Plus junior membership includes:

- age appropriate exercise classes
- swimming at any of our leisure centres with a pool. Does not include pool activities, such as seaside sessions, fun sessions, splash tots, raft and float sessions, inflatable sessions and Splashability

A thrive pass membership gives you access to facilities at a chosen leisure centre. It includes:
- access to the gym where available
- classes at your leisure centre and the ability to book seven days in advance
- access to swimming where available. Does not include pool activities, such as seaside sessions, fun sessions, splash tots, raft and float sessions, inflatable sessions and Splashability.
- sauna and steam room facilities where available at any of our leisure centres
- access to a Move Hub where available
thrive card membership
By joining our thrive card membership, you will receive:
- discounts on fitness classes, swimming prices, squash and table tennis, steam and sauna use
Swimming lessons membership
Our swimming lessons pathway is based on the Swim England’s swimmers Journey, which includes a continuous and progressive programme with a range of awards to recognise achievements.
A swim lesson membership includes:
- access to your weekly lesson with a minimum of 45 lessons a year
- unlimited access to general swim sessions at our leisure centres. Does not include pool activities, such as seaside sessions, fun sessions, splash tots, raft and float sessions, inflatable sessions and Splashability
- access to Course Hub to keep track of lessons and progress

Other memberships
- Corporate membership – We have a range of membership options which can be tailored to suit your company. Why not contact us today to find out more about our corporate membership scheme.
- Armed forces membership – If you are in the armed forces you can take advantage of our corporate membership rate (18% discount) on standard 12 month Direct Debit and annual memberships. You also have the option to freeze memberships if you are called away on duty. Discounts apply for Royal Air Force, Army and Royal Navy personnel, including reservists and veterans. Non-contract options are not available on armed forces memberships but if you would prefer to pay casually for gym use we will waiver the annual joining fee.
- We will waiver the annual joining fee for a casual membership.
- Pay as you go – If you prefer to use the leisure centres on a casual pay as you go basis you can take advantage of concessionary rates for swimming and fitness classes.
Contract types
When you’ve chosen your membership, there are two different contract types, and you may pay less because you come under a concession.
- 12 month contract: If you commit to a 12 month contract, you sign up to the membership for 12 months, with your membership payment taken out of your account each month for a year.
- No contract (pay monthly): If you do not want to commit to a 12 month membership, you can now take advantage of our no-contract membership. This offers you the flexibility to use the gym facilities for as long or as little as you want. You can take out a non-contract membership from as little as one to 12 months with a cancellation period of 30 days’ notice.
